Our History
Crofton Park Football Club was founded in May 2007 by a group of friends from the Crofton area. The aim of the club being that it would provide the community with an oppurtunity to take part in football be it as player, volunteer or spectator. Since its creation the club has attracted a great deal of interest and has gone on to launch a website, sign a sponsorship deal, and appoint an F.A. certified coach. The next phase of development will hopefully see the creation of an U'16's team in time for the 2010-11 season, and to launch its summer soccer schools programme in the future. It is hoped that the club will continue to grow and go on to become a big part of the Crofton, Lewisham and South-London community.
Season 2007-08 was the season Crofton Park laid its foundations for the future. A 7th place finish in our debut season was a remarkable achievement baring in mind the team played no fewer than 11 fixtures with less than 11 men! However off the field much hard work and endeavour meant that the club was on firm footing for the future.
Season 2008-09 saw all the previous seasons hard work off the field pay off. A sponsorship deal with JD and Sons and the launch of the clubs website saw Crofton Park progress and become one of the key clubs in the area. A fourth place finish in the league as well as a cup final appearance proved that a solid foundation off the pitch often leads to success on it.
Season 2009-10 was Crofton Park's most successful yet. The club were crowned Champions of Junior Division One after a long & hard fought season & a semi final appearance in the Junior Cup was also achieved. Regular updates to the website & Facebook page saw Crofton gain a larger following & more people began showing an interest in joining the club.
